Finished with 23 Things

So I have finished my 23 Things training and am glad that I had the opportunity to participate. There are some sites that I never plan on using again - like Twitter - but some that I have incorporated into my daily life like igoogle and RSS feeds. Of all of them I liked del.icio.us and google docs the bestest!

Google docs - great way to have back up of specific files from any computer. I uploaded my Powerpoint presentations and class syllabi so incase I ever have a computer or flashdrive crisis, I can still access my presentations :)

Del.icio.us

Discovered Del.icio.us today. A great bookmarking tool. It's a way to mark your favorite websites and to have access to them from any computer, anywhere, anytime!

www.forums.familysearch.org

Another site that needs kudos is the Family Search Forums site. This is a community forum where you can ask genealogical questions, answer questions, connect with relatives and also post documents that you need translations for. I go into the site at least once a week to see what questions are being asked specific to my areas of interest. I've been able to assist others and to receive assistance!

www.findagrave.com

This website links you to the graves of famous people, but more importantly - it can link you to the tombstones of your ancestors! Some of the entries have copies of the obituaries. One record I found contained family links and within 3 minutes I was able to jump from a woman born in 1888 in McCloud Co. Minnesota to her father born in 1861 in Nieuwstadt, Limburg, Netherlands to his father born 1825 in Nieuwstadt. It's worth taking some time to check this site out :)

Youth Conference Pandemic :)

The ward's Youth Conference this last weekend was a wonderful success. The youth and leaders created memories, taught lessons, bore testimony and shared a ruthless strain of the stomach flu! Last I heard we were up to 11 sick. Gotta laugh

This is us the night before Spencer entered the MTC to serve his mission in the Prague - Czech Republic Mission. The picture isn't complete though, we are missing Katie our soon to be daughter-in-law!

Yep, it's the end of the world!

Yep, my children can now drop over dead, I not only text and am on Facebook...I now have a blog! This is thanks to my highly motivated workforce at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City which has encouraged all of us to participate in the program entitled "23 Things". They are bringing us oldies into the 21st century! (I'd invite you to check it out at https://fch.ldschurch.org/WWSupport/23things/ ). Apparently I'm going to be doing more than just blogging...I'll know how to use Flickr, Picasa, Shutterfly, Twitter and more. Watch out world!
